Chloe - ADOPTED!

Chloe -- ADOPTED!!

Chloe is a 10-month-old female harlequin Dane.  When Chloe came into rescue, her poor little spirit was broken from being left in a kill shelter.  It was easy going with her for a few days as not to traumatize her.  Each day her personality grew.  Now, 4 weeks later,  we have a very sweet and loving puppy.  She gives us full body wags of her tail.  She loves to play with her foster Dane sister and brother.  She is still a tiny bit shy with new people but warms up very quickly.  She gets along with other dogs and cats.  She recently met a bunny at the vet and was not fazed by it at all. She had not had any medical attention before rescue, but she is now up to date on vaccines and did wonderful with the vet.  Chloe does not know any commands; however, we just started working with her on sit, and she must sit prior to eating.  She does this quickly because she is a chow hound.  She walks well on a leash and is crate trained.  She is almost potty trained.  Chloe was left at a kill shelter we assume because her prior families did not want to pay for any medical care.  We suspect Chloe was stepped on at birth and not treated so her left front elbow is damaged.  She has been evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon and he is amazed that she is walking and playing with no signs of pain.  There is not much that can be done surgically for this beautiful girl.  As life goes on for her, she will develop more arthritis than what is already there and will need to be on anti-inflammatories and more than likely  pain killers.  For now, because she is loving life, her restrictions are to keep her activities down to a minimum and no jumping.   She continues to run and play as if there is nothing wrong with her leg.   She is a wonderful puppy looking for a wonderful forever home.
