Happy Holidays from Hercules!

UPDATE:  September 1, 2015

This handsome Dane is looking for his forever family.  He is enjoying the comforts of his foster home, but would love a family of his own.

UPDATE:  July 30, 2015

Hercules is still looking for his fur-ever home.   He is a 4-year-old Great Dane who started his life under some pretty rough conditions, but is now enjoying the life of an indoor dog and all the comfort that goes along with that.  Hercules loves his nice soft bed.  He has been neutered and recovered nicely.   Hercules is doing better with leash manners, does good for his bath at the self-serve doggie wash, spends time napping on Sunday afternoons and has good house manners.   Hercules has met some dogs and done well.  He is a very happy boy!

UPDATE APRIL 16, 2015:

Handsome Hercules has completed his heartworm treatment and we are now accepting adoption applications. He attended his first meet & greet event this past weekend and did fantastic!

Hercules beginnings......

Meet Hercules! He came to us from some unfortunate circumstances. Hercules just turned 4 years old recentlyand has spent the majority of his life outside on a chain with only a much too small dog house for shelter. His food dish was an oil pan on a bucket and his water was held in filthy old buckets.  The day we picked him up it was 28 degrees out and his teeth were chattering from the cold.  Despite the less than ideal conditions he was accustomed to, he is very happy go lucky and greets everyone (both 2 legged and 4 legged) with a wagging tail. He is enjoying getting to know all of the comforts of life indoors.

Hercules had his first vet visit and things were much worse than we anticipated.  Not only is he loaded with hookworms, roundworms and whipworms, he also is Heartworm positive.   Heartworm treatment is extremely expensive and especially in a giant breed dog such as Hercules.   We want to start treatment as soon as possible because the heartworms cause severe damage to the heart the longer they are left untreated but we need the funds to pay for treatment.   Would you please help us help Hercules and make a donation?  No amount is too small!
